The team and lockdown...what's getting us through

These past few weeks have been a challenge to say the least. But it has brought to light those things that we take for granted yet cherish all the same. Being able to give a loved one a hug, sharing a meal, or even just face to face conversation...This has been a time of reflection and one of gratitude. We are all lucky to be where we are now, and in a few short weeks we will be able to enjoy life's simple pleasures again. Not long to go now gorjis...stay strong.

Everyone deals with lockdown in their very own way, we’ve even noticed that within the three of us...each finding our own sense of comfort in different day to day activities. We have all blossomed as a team and become stronger for it, and we want to share some of that strength with you.

“Hello Girls...

Yah I am fully vaccinated now. Ready to take on the world, bring it on. I didn't feel any different after the two shots, no after effects for me.

I have been learning loads of new things each day, tapping into all the online teaching I can get my hands on. Digital Boost I highly recommend.

I have had time to cull old paperwork records, and came across some wonderful memories of days gone by... here is a picture of a TCD Management Conference I did 12 years ago out at Huia. I know where each of these girls are today.

I have been trying new recipes with Jack Oliver, we have been doing some lovely "Lives" on Facebook, sharing stories and just connecting with you. Dad is becoming more confident in speaking out.

I have worn out my sewing machine nearly, it wont do the zig zag stitch anymore, so I use another stitch and be happy with that lol.

This lockdown I have struggled with not moving my body. But I have now sorted that out with a little home Gym utilising my hand weights, deck steps and even riding my bike. My arthritic knees, hands and feet have been giving me lots of pain this time.

Been really enjoying the contact with all you Girls, answering all the emails and questions.

Been really proud of Morgan and Dihlia with how they have also had to change up how they work. We are a great little team of 3.”

“It's been a wild lockdown, but I’ve come to terms with knowing myself better and realising how creative I can become. I’ve begun a new virtual styling session. It’s pretty incredible to inspire other women and be an inspiration. I love helping people, I love finding ways to appreciate who they are and navigating the different areas of themselves to showcase more often.

I’ve also done a lot of cooking in lockdown. I find this very therapeutic. If you haven’t already, try out our Apple Cinnamon Scrolls, Seeded Crackers etc let us know if you need the recipe!!!!

Cooking is a way for me to think of ideas, be creative & also eating the delicious food, duh!!!

It’s been a whirlwind of challenges. One particular thing is, I miss being around people (work fam, church etc) I'm a social butterfly & I love interacting with others. So it's a little challenging for me in that sense. But facetime & Zoom has been a life saver for me. There's a lot to do in the day so it keeps me on my toes. I’ve been having a really fun time shooting up styles for you, being my creative self and showing how I would wear the TCD clothes. Overall, I'm over it and I can't wait to get back to work and be around the girls

“I have never really coped that well during lockdowns. This feeling of paralysis just washes over me and I’m unable to do the things I really want to do, but this time around I’ve been trying to push through that feeling. I have found a real comfort in the 9:30am video calls with Caroline and Dihlia. Just seeing those smiling faces gets me up and ready for the day and kickstarts that feeling of being connected to the ones around me. It helps to bring a sense of routine to my day as well, making it feel like somewhat of a normal work day.

One of the things that has really helped me is knitting. After seeing Caroline knitting up those shawls I have dived right into the knitting world.

I find that mindlessly knitting away while watching movies and tv helps me feel more productive...like I’m achieving something while just sitting on the couch. And that feeling of finishing a project is oh so satisfying.

I managed to finish a little vest for myself, experimenting with new techniques and coming up with designs on the fly which offer a different feeling of achievement. I thought I’d show you some of the things I’ve been knitting.

How have you been keeping yourself busy? Have you been knitting and getting crafty like me? What's been your saving grace this lockdown? I’d love to get some inspiration from you, there’s so many different things I haven’t explored yet…”
