Hi Gorjis!
It’s time to talk about our Spring/Summer 26 collection Witherwill.

This collection explores ideas of individual responsibility. You’d think that the knowledge of our freedom would create a feeling of empowerment. Yet more often than not, this vast sense of possibility brings with it a vague, unsettling restlessness.
Created in a time of global upheaval, this collection was founded on a feeling of division. Amid this political, economic, spiritual, and physical disarray, the question remains: who, if anyone, can we truly hold accountable?
Witherwill calls attention to our free will. It acts as a reminder that we are alone in responsibility. Alone in self-control, and alone in action. We are free to make our own decisions, and experience the consequence of the decisions we make.
Our freedom enables us to express. We are free to connect, to care, and to play. When we live without these simple actions of life, we force ourselves into ignorance, isolation, and fear.
TCD was founded by big girls, for big girls. We understand the adversity that our bodies exist within. Treated as abject, uncomfortable, and restrictive. Witherwill is here to remind us that these very bodies are the ones that enable us to exercise our right to care, to connect, and to play.
At TCD, care, connection, and play are pillars of our brand. We care for our community through local manufacture and earth-centred design. We connect through every part of the process, from showing up on our socials to seeing your beautiful faces in store. And we play during Facebook livestreams, team lunches, and all the giggles and gossip inbetween.
A huge part of the care factor for this S/S collection was the repurposing of lace offcuts gifted to us by our garment cutters. Redirecting textile waste is one of the key components of sustainable manufacturing. We put this into practice through cutting binding, quilting, and creating our signature Patchwork Jumper. This season, we’re also soft-launching the new and improved Gorjis range which will be focused on the repurposing, reuse, and reimagination of seasonal textile offcuts. Spring/Summer is all about new life, renewal, growth, and celebration. It is a time to make big life leaps, do important work, and honour the end of another year.
During the development of this collection we pulled inspiration from our natural environment. Inspired by the rolling hills, sandy beaches, and dense bush of the abundant landscapes we are surrounded by in Aotearoa.

Our key three-piece set is a tribute to our home. the Skye shirt, a pledge to the long white cloud; the Gaucho trouser, a call to the Moana that encases the land; and the Orbit top, an ode to our rich green bush.
So come play with us! Pop by in store and let us find something fun, authentic, and functional. Slide into our DMs and tell us what excites you about this new collection.
